Trademarks
A trademark grants the right to use a sign and, at the same time, to stop others from using the same or a similar sign in the course of their own business.
Word marks and figurative marks are the usual choice. Beyond those there are more exotic kinds — sound marks, shape marks and others.
Scope of protection
Where, what and for how long?
Trademarks are always registered for a particular territory. There is no such thing as a global mark.
They are likewise always registered for particular goods or services.
A registration lasts ten years. After that it can be renewed again and again, for as long as you want the brand protected.
Funding
Grants from the SME Fund
You may be eligible for an EU grant towards your trademark application and get back 75 % of the official fees (up to 700 EUR). It runs until the fund is exhausted.
I can help you with the grant application and will arrange everything on your behalf.
